CEREC stands for Chairside Economical Restoration of Esthetic Ceramics, the newest innovation in ceramic cosmetic and restorative dentistry. CEREC 3D applies a sophisticated combination of high-tech precision machinery and computer technology to produce custom restorations, including veneers, inlays, onlays, and full crowns.

Advantages of CEREC 3D

With CEREC 3D, restoration of your smile can take as little as one hour. No impressions are required, and since the permanent restoration is milled onsite, so you won't need a follow-up visit.

A natural-looking, metal-free CEREC restoration will blend seamlessly with your existing smile. CEREC Blocs, the high-grade, anti-abrasive, plaque-resistant material that CEREC restorations are milled from is compatible with the tissue in your mouth. CEREC 3D allows our staff to be extremely precise and conserve more your natural dentition.

How CEREC 3D Works

First, we prepare the damaged tooth by removing any decay or unsound tooth structure. Then, a thin layer of reflective powder is painted on the tooth surface. A special camera scans the tooth and takes a picture, or “optical impression,” of the tooth.

Computer Aided Design (CAD) technology helps us the restoration for the optical impression. You can actually watch our staff design your new restoration on a full-color computer monitor right before your eyes!
